ប្រទេសយួនបានសាងសង់អាកាសយានដ្ឋានអន្ដរជាតិថ្មីដ៏ធំមួយនៅលើកោះត្រល់ ក្នុងតម្លៃ ៨១០លានដុល្លារសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិក ដោលយក្រុមហ៊ុន Airports Corporation of Vietnam។ អាកាសយានដ្ឋាននេះបានចាប់ផ្ដើមសាងសង់នៅថ្ងៃទី២៣ ខែវិច្ឆិកា ពុទ្ធសករាជ ២៥៥២ គ្រិស្ដសករាជ ២០០៨ និងសាងសង់ចប់សព្វគ្រប់ជាស្ថាពរ ព្រមទាំងធ្វើដំណើរការនៅថ្ងៃទី១៥ ខែធ្នូ ពុទ្ធសករាជ ២៥៥៦ គ្រិស្ដសករាជ ២០១២។ អាកាសយានដ្ឋាននេះ​ត្រូវ​បាន​រចនា​ដោយ​ក្រុមហ៊ុន​ដៃគូ សិង្ហបុរី-អាមេរិក CPG-PAE មានទំហំផ្ទៃដី ៩០០ ហិកតា (ស្មើ ២,២២៤អ៊េកឺ acre) មានចម្ងាយប្រមាណ ៩គីឡូម៉ែត្រ (៥.៦ miles) ស្ថិតនៅទិសខាងត្បូងទីក្រុងភូវុឹក។

Vietnam builds new airport terminal inspired by Phoenix (in Khmer កោះត្រល់ Koh Tral pronounced Koss Trohl) on Phu Quoc Island in preparation for APEC Week 2027. Vietnam is making bold preparations for APEC 2027 by constructing a massive new terminal at Phu Quoc International Airport, designed to transform the island into a world-class destination. Phu Quoc Island, the largest island in Vietnam, will construct a new terminal for its main airport. The terminal is designed to handle 18 million passengers by 2027 and up to 50 million by 2050.
